shorts & skirt from Laura Ashley fabric
I used the pattern book below to draw a pattern for the shorts I have made. I used a pattern for trousers and cut it down...I hope they fit. The skirt didn't need a pattern, just a long strip joined with French seams, a channel at the top for the elastic and hemmed with blind hemming stitch on the machine.
I'm now working on the clothes for my second teddy bear :)
My daughters friend in South Africa has asked me to make her twin sons a stripy beany hat each so that will be next on my list. I have no idea when I will be finishing my Ohio Star quilt!
I'm off to Devon on Sunday for a few days to hopefully finish my Mothers house and to get to visit her again :)

baby hat & booties
I've been getting into a bit of knitting recently and bought a Debbie Bliss book of baby patterns while I was away and have just finished this hat and booties for a new born baby. The hat was supposed to have a ribbed rim to it but I decided to make a rolled rim. The booties are made in moss and garter stitch and made in one piece. The hat was made on four needles...first time I had tried that :)
The yarn is Debbie Bliss Babycashmerino which is a blend of 55% merino wool, 33% microfibre and 12% cashmere. Its beautiful and soft and lovely to knit with...just off to start a different hat now..

girls hat
I have just finished this little girls hat, it was nice and fast to make, plain garter stitch with two strands of yarn. I then cut a circular piece of vintage fabric in matching colours, gathered it slightly in the centre, attached the fabric then added a crocheted circle and button.

Catch Up
My cousin spotted on facebook, the hats that I made for the twins and mentioned that she would like one. So I made this for her over the weekend.
Below are some lovely vintage/retro fabric pieces that my daughter bought for me in a charity shop...not sure what I'll make yet but I love retro fabrics
I hadn't appreciated how wonky this is till I looked at the photo. I made this for a competition back in the summer. I coastal quilt theme....I didn't win anything :( but enjoyed designing and making it.

Getting Ready
If you visit my blog regularly you will know that every now and again I receive requests from my daughters for items to be made for my grandchildren. I have just made Gilby's trousers, I have finished one hat for the twins and am working on another one, same but different coloured buttons and I have cut out the fabric for their dresses, the cord that I am using is below. I have added photos of them going to choose and cut down their tree for Christmas, each year they go to the same place, romp around till they find the perfect tree.

A Country Walk & Some Wooly Hats
I have been been busy making wooly hats for Christmas gifts for my great nieces and nephews, its a simple garter stitch pattern and I added crocheted flowers for the girls and a pompom for the boys. I am now making one each for my twin grandaughters with ear flaps on. Although Autumn is here in the UK we have had some lovely sunny days...great for a walk at Ashridge Park.

Maggie Boo
I had to post this photo that I have taken from my daughter and son in laws blog...not sure what she is looking at but looks like she is in a world of her own. She is wearing the same hat and coat that her mummy used to wear when she was little.
