crochet blanket

I just finished this blanket, its not really big but just the right size for a lap blanket to snuggle under on a chilly evening or to take away in the caravan. I used 100% acrylic yarn and a no 3 crochet hook.

Caravan Cushions

Next Saturday 21st, we will be taking our little caravan off to a Bible Camp with some others from church. I am really hoping the weather improves. We do have an awning that doubles its size but having a little caravan does have its benefits :)
It is old and I have just made new curtains and cushions to brighten it up a bit. One couple have an amazing new camper van...my husband calls it a pamper van...so we wont be parking next to them!

The Cotswolds

We have returned from our trip to The Cotswolds and had a relaxing time. The rain stopped after the first night but as the sun didnt really shine until our last day, my photo's are a little dull. I love photographing achitecture and so a visit to this area is especially exciting for me. I hope you enjoy scrolling down through the photos below. We will certainly be planning another visit soon.

French Basket

I've been looking for one of these baskets for a while, I could have bought one online but I didnt really want to pay the prices they are asking. My daughter has a number of these in different sizes, she uses them for carrying washing, toys and beach stuff as well as packing them full of their luggage when they come up to visit us. She bought hers in France.
Yesterday when we were out visiting a market town near where we live we found there was a French street market and I found this basket at a very reasonable price.
So today I went through my fabric to find something to line the basket with, I found some Toile de Jouy that I have had for some years. I used a piece of denim to make a pocket for each side. I will be packing it up on Monday when we leave for a few days trip in our little caravan we are travelling over to the Cotswolds

Hop Farm Festival

We had a visit from the twins this weekend, we had a planned day trip to the Hop Farm Festival in Kent with half of our children and grandchildren. The main act being Bob Dylan. We had a great day, although organisation at the end of the day was poor and it took us THREE hours to get out of the car park. Thankfully our kids had all managed to park elsewhere and got home at a decent time.
The twins hadn't visited since we bought our little caravan and were very excited about popping inside and having a look. Maggie thought it fun to put her feet up! I wonder if any of you American/Canadian bloggers remember the Get Along Gang? Well my sons enjoyed it when they were young and have passed their toys onto the twins.....Mummy has also bought them a few extras from ebay and they just love them....even changing their own names to Rocco Rabbit and Bingo Bet it all Beaver!

This post is for Joseph & Jesse

When Grandma and Grandpa were away in our caravan we went and visited the Imperial War Museum and saw these 'planes. The top picture is the Tiger Moth that Grandpa went up in, he took over the controls and flew it for a few minutes. He really enjoyed his trip and when we come to visit you in South Africa in the summer I will show you the video clips on my laptop.
We love you!

Eriba Eribelle

We have just bought ourselves a little treat! Its called an Eriba Eribelle and is a small 2 birth French caravan. We wanted something small for towing and storing. It has an awning to add to the side. This photo was taken by the seller, it is over 20 years old and my husband is doing a little tidying up on the paintwork and I am making new curtains. The upholstery and furnishing is all very good condition. We are very excited about our first trip which is booked for the beginning of June!
