sixth birthday

I have just returned from a few days in Devon for the twins birthday, Grandpa joined us in time for the party :) they had asked for remote controlled skateboarding dogs!! And Daddy also bought them a skateboard each. (Daddy skateboards too)
We went out for dinner on their birthday to The Oyster Shack which is a favourite eating place for birthdays and then the party was on Saturday. Smurfs were the theme and Mummy excelled herself with wonderful eating delights and special games ending up with all the excited little children toasting marshmallows out on the deck.

It was their turn to bring home the class meer cat for the week so he joined us for dinner

valentine treats

We have never much bothered with Valentines day because our wedding anniversary is just the week before. We take advantage of all those lovely 'heart' cards and gifts and give them to each other on our anniversary instead.
But as regular readers will know, our youngest daughter loves a party and so I am sharing some of the lovely treats she made for their Valentines Tea Party. They invited their little friend from next door and as you can see, Gilby is chuffed to be sitting next to her on the sofa!

celebrations

This week of February is a busy one, Monday was Gilby's 2nd birthday, today is his mummy's 34th birthday and Thursday is our 37th wedding anniversary!
Below are some photos of Gilby's party...if you usually read my blog you will know that my daughter loves doing birthday parties for her family.

Gilby talking to Grandma & Grandpa on the phone...we were wishing him 'happy birthday'

Dance at Grandpa's
His party was based on his favourite book, Dancing at Grandpa's by Laura Ingalls Wilder. My daughter grew up reading Little House on the Prairie books.

his fantastic birthday cake
Gilby and his friend Tilda sharing some pop corn

This display with the bird is taken from the first page of the book
The children made scented bags....

 and wool dolls
my daughter made each child a cross stitch with their initial...this is her first attempt at cross stitch after just one lesson from me on my last visit....she did a great job

she made little take home gifts from the cardboard cartons that come with her weekly veggi box delivery. These are to resemble picnic hampers....we would have loved to have been there...hopefully next year

Snoopy Party!

We are home from Devon after a fun time at the twins 4th birthday party. The theme was Peanuts so Primrose dressed as Lucy (I was requested to knock up a quick Lucy dress when we arrived!) and Maggie was Charlie Brown, Mummy had that costume all done. The venue was Daddy's photo studio at his business. He had been busy making the Snoopy house and Mummy drew and painted all the characters that were around the room. She also made fantastic Belle cakes amongst other tasty delights!

Twins Third Birthday

We have just returned from the twins 3rd birthday celebrations in Devon. The day before we went to the pottery cafe where the girls got to paint a mickey Mouse each and a plate for Great Grandma for Christmas....this was a big hit and they got to go an pick up their 'cooked Mickeys the next day when the glaze was all bright and shiny.

Yummy birthday breakfast made from yogurt, fruit compote and granola

The girls are really into the Getalong Gang (for those who dont know, this was a cartoon around in the 80's. They asked for a Getalong Gang party so Mummy managed to get characters and party stuff from ebay. She also made the girls Montgomery Moose outfits

Daddy scanned and printed characters for the invites and party hats

Mummy made the cake, covered pretzels with chocolate and made cupcakes

This little tongue couldnt resist  a quick lick!

They couldnt decide whether to  wear Moose outfits, Mickey swimming costumes or Zipper Cats headband...so they wore them all while having some 'after party' chill time
