I made this quilt from fabric I have left over from other baby quilts I have made. I used part of a vintage quilt I had been given, for the backing. It is soft and snugly and I can't wait to see him all wrapped up in it.

baby quilt
I have just finished the quilt for baby Lihle, the little boy that my daughter is caring for in South Africa. She continues to take him to visit his birth mother but at the moment she is not in a position to make decisions for her own life or his.

Friday
Fridays is our day off and we always try to get out of the house if only for a short walk, yesterday we went to our favourite close by place, Ashridge. Where we walked then had lunch in the lovely outdoor cafe. Although it was chilly the sun shine and the walk was refreshing. I then got started on a baby quilt made from Moda Pezzy Print fabrics. I had a pack of pre cut squares making the task nice and quick, I will hopefully get the layers put together on Monday.
Have a great Sunday!

baby quilt
I have just completed this little baby quilt for my etsy shop. The fabric is beautiful, supplied by Oakshott. The shot cotton is ethically sourced by Oakshott from master weavers along the Malabar coast of South West India. This quilt is made from their Lakes series of colours. I backed the quilt with a white vintage cotton bed sheet and I have hand quilted it with grey quilting thread.

baby quilt
I love it when our kids and our friends kids start their families because I get to make a baby quilt and I love making baby quilts!
This is my friend Jacqui, her son is one of my sons best friends and he and his wife attend church with our son and his wife. Sean and Rachel are expecting their first child in October and this will be Jacqui's first grandchild...I know just how excited she is.
We know that their baby is expected to be a little boy so I went to my fabric stash to gather suitable pieces and got cutting this morning.
I still don't know how to centre my photo's when I blog on.y ipad

Ella Wren
A couple of weeks ago I posted photos of the quilt that I made for my daughters friends who were adopting their second baby in South Africa.
This morning my daughter sent me the bottom photo that she took at church when their friends turned up with little Ella Wren.
I am sure you will agree she is the most beautiful baby girl. And she is wrapped in her little quilt looking beautifully snuggled up.
