Wings like Eagles

Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending the wedding of our youth pastor and a young lady from our church, it was a beautiful day, ceremony and reception. My husband spoke from

Isaiah 40:31 Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow faint.

At the end of his message he played I Will Rise by Chris Tomlin. The chorus says

I will rise when He calls my name

No more sorrow, no more pan

I will rise on eagles wings

before my God, fall on my knees

And Rise

I will rise

Both this scripture and the song are an amazing expression of how our Father lifts us up and empowers us to soar like eagles, and in response to that we fall on our knees and worship Him

This verse is my mother's favorites. She quotes it so often and always it speaks to me. What a special verse and beautiful song to share at a wedding. I never heard it shared at a wedding but I consider it so appropriate for a couple starting out in their journey together.

So many powerful posts this morning about the love of our God and his grace and mercy to us - thanks for these thoughts, this is one of my favorite verses. Blessings, Peg
