A Life to Enjoy

There are occasionally things that I have to do that I really don't want to, I sometimes look ahead in my diary and dread the thought of having to do something or go somewhere. This is what Joyce Meyer says in 'The Confident Woman'.'People dread many things and most of them don't even realise what dread does to them. It sucks the joy right out of the present moment. The life God has provided for us through Jesus Christ is a precious gift and we should enjoy every moment of it .........Train yourself not to dread the unpleasant tasks but to actually tackle them first. The sooner in the day you do the things you don't prefer doing, the more energy you have to do them with. If you wait until the end of the day when most of your energy is gone and then try to do something you really don't like doing, it will be worse than doing it earlier. Dread causes us to procrastinate, but if you're ever going to do something, now is the best time!'

We met the lady in the photo while delivering food to orphans in Kwa Zulu Natal. my husband had a little chat with her but I don't think they really understood each other as she spoke Zulu and he English. However, she was very happy to stop and was delighted to see us.She was a very cheery lady and didn't appear at all in dread of the task of carrying her heavy load of rice for what must have been a very long, hot walk down into the valley

This post was created for me, because I find it so easy to procrastinate when it is something I dread doing. Good reminder for me. Thank you for sharing it.

That is such a good message! Joyce is one of my favorites. I actually see so much beauty in that photograph of the lady. Wouldn't that be a wonderful picture to frame!
