Beach Robe

I expect many of you have seen one of these. I had one very similar colours to this when I was a child. I bought this robe some years ago in a charity shop. My daughter asked me if I would make her one with arm holes for when she takes her four year old twins and todder swimming. She can put it over her costume to keep warm and also have hands free to dry and dress the children.

I couldn't find any exciting towelling at a reasonable price and so went for plain blue...Maggie will be pleased but Primrose will have wanted it pink :)

I went for a French seam as towelling frays so much.

Measured and cut slits for arms

I used some Liberty print bias binding to bind the arm holes

How cute - love the Liberty print. This reminds me a bit of trying to dress/undress on the beach with only a skirt/dress to cover myself. xx

This makes me want to sew! Something I haven't really done in a while.
