African quilt

As I haven't posted for over two weeks I am now posting twice in one day! My daughter brought these fabrics back from South Africa some time back for me to make a quilt for them. The fabric is actually from Tanzania. There are two blue panels and two red. I decided to keep them in the panels and not cut them up and have joined them side by side so there is a red side and a blue side, I have placed the wadding in between and am now quilting the design from the blue side. I have used a light weight wadding so it wont be too hot or heavy for them to travel back with. I will post a finished photo when its done.

Cousins

I have just returned from a lovely week in Devon with all our grandchildren, bringing half of them and their parents back with me. Life was hectic but fun. They are such good pals and really love each other...just like their parents. We had lots of lovely walks and caught up with family and friends. Our eldest daughter and her husband are missionaries and are over in the UK 'till July 14th speaking at churches and on the radio about their work in South Africa. www.project-o.org

Carluccio's

We had a great time at Carluccio's on Saturday night for Alice's 21st. The food was great and the company even better. We love Alice's family and always have a great time when we are together. It's amazing how God brings people into our lives, we don't just have a lovely daughter-in-law but an extended family too.

Fun, Fun, Fun!

Next Thursday is a very exciting day, Vashti, Martin, Joseph & Jesse arrive and are staying in the Uk for 7 weeks. We haven't seen them for nearly 8 months! On Friday I will be travelling down to Devon with them to stay with Andy, Amy, Primrose & Maggie, can't wait to have all my Grandchildren together!!

Today's my birthday so my husband and I went to Windsor for the day. Weather was a little dull but we had a lovely time, had a wander around the shops and had lunch in a little Italian restaurant. Windsor has some lovely old buildings as well as WIndsor Castle. We drove back through the little town on Eton, where the historic Eton College is situated
Today is also my daughter in law, Alice's birthday, and she is 21! so tomorrow we will go into London to meet up with Alice and Dominic, our other son Ben and all Alice's family and go to eat at Carluccio's. So now that I have my new camara I will hopefully get some photo's to add to these I took today

Finished

I managed to get the quilt finished and am pleased with how it turned out, I used Warm Bond natural wadding this clings to the top and backing of the quilt so it requires less basting and making it easier to quilt.
