Birthdays

Three of my nieces have been pregnant at the same time, my sisters two daughters, one has had a little girl and the other one is still waiting, and one of my brothers daughters has had her fourth child, also a little girl. 

I made a pair of these trousers for each of the babies that have been born, I forgot to photograph the first pair but here is the second pair. I lined both pairs with soft flannel fabric, or winsiette, depending on where you are from :)

Last week was my birthday, my daughter in law has the same birthday, so we usually meet up somewhere for lunch. This year we met at Petersham Nurseries near Richmond. This is a beautiful place, there is a restaurant and a cafe, each set in the lovely old green houses. We ate in the cafe and I took a few photos around the place. We then walked through Richmond Park. Molly came too and this was the first meeting with some of our family...I am glad to say she was on her best behaviour!

It's been a busy couple of weeks

It seems like I have been away for ages. Tonight I will sit down and catch up on all your posts.

 The beginning of last week we went to a conference which was a great time of Spiritual teaching and blessing. From there we drove to look at a cottage in Wales which we are hoping to buy and then back home for one night before driving down to a sweet little town on the South Coast called Millford on Sea. We lived down on the SC for three years while hubby was at Bible College and really love that area. 

As you know it was hubby's 60th on Sunday so I had booked a weekend at a pottery where we stayed in a lovely little loft above the pottery he spent Saturday joining with five others on a pottery course. During his time I went exploring the beach and a couple of local towns. The weather was glorious and we had a great time.

 We then drove to our friends retreat in East Sussex for a couple of nights, spending yesterday picnicking with them down on the beach. The sea was wild with enormous waves and the sunshine warm and wonderful. 

Last night as we arrived back to house we felt blessed and refreshed, if not a little tired :)

This coming Saturday we will be continuing the birthday celebrations with lunch in London with some of the family.

sixth birthday

I have just returned from a few days in Devon for the twins birthday, Grandpa joined us in time for the party :) they had asked for remote controlled skateboarding dogs!! And Daddy also bought them a skateboard each. (Daddy skateboards too)

We went out for dinner on their birthday to The Oyster Shack which is a favourite eating place for birthdays and then the party was on Saturday. Smurfs were the theme and Mummy excelled herself with wonderful eating delights and special games ending up with all the excited little children toasting marshmallows out on the deck.

It was their turn to bring home the class meer cat for the week so he joined us for dinner

birthday makes

I have been knitting two little gilets for the twins birthday. They will be 6 in November. I have used a Wendy pattern and shimmer yarn which I have never used before...not too difficult to use unless you drop a stitch! The scarves are made from another fancy yarn that I picked up in a charity shop. Both yarns are soft and fluffy and so hopefully the girls will like wearing them. They are a bit fussy when it come to textures against their skin...take after their grandma. The bottom two photos were taken on their first birthday. I can't believe how much they have changed :)

                                     

                                     

my mother

In March my Mother will be 85. For the last few years she has been suffering with vascular dementia and has slowly become more confused. We have taken the decision to move her into a lovely home in Devon where she lives. This home is for people suffering with dementia. My brother is an architect and carried out the conversion on this beautiful building. 

We are just waiting for a room to become available.

Mum doesn't really understand that this is going to happen and we are praying that the transition will be a smooth one for her. With us living four hours drive away and my sister (not sure if I have ever blogged about the story of how my sister found us) even further away in Wales, all local jobs are left for my brother. 

For my Mothers birthday I have made a photo book of photo's taken over the years.

 This week of February is a busy one, Monday was Gilby's 2nd birthday, today is his mummy's 34th birthday and Thursday is our 37th wedding anniversary!

Below are some photos of Gilby's party...if you usually read my blog you will know that my daughter loves doing birthday parties for her family.

my daughter made each child a cross stitch with their initial...this is her first attempt at cross stitch after just one lesson from me on my last visit....she did a great job

she made little take home gifts from the cardboard cartons that come with her weekly veggi box delivery. These are to resemble picnic hampers....we would have loved to have been there...hopefully next year
