Carluccio's

We had a great time at Carluccio's on Saturday night for Alice's 21st. The food was great and the company even better. We love Alice's family and always have a great time when we are together. It's amazing how God brings people into our lives, we don't just have a lovely daughter-in-law but an extended family too.

Fun, Fun, Fun!

Next Thursday is a very exciting day, Vashti, Martin, Joseph & Jesse arrive and are staying in the Uk for 7 weeks. We haven't seen them for nearly 8 months! On Friday I will be travelling down to Devon with them to stay with Andy, Amy, Primrose & Maggie, can't wait to have all my Grandchildren together!!

Today's my birthday so my husband and I went to Windsor for the day. Weather was a little dull but we had a lovely time, had a wander around the shops and had lunch in a little Italian restaurant. Windsor has some lovely old buildings as well as WIndsor Castle. We drove back through the little town on Eton, where the historic Eton College is situated
Today is also my daughter in law, Alice's birthday, and she is 21! so tomorrow we will go into London to meet up with Alice and Dominic, our other son Ben and all Alice's family and go to eat at Carluccio's. So now that I have my new camara I will hopefully get some photo's to add to these I took today

Finished

I managed to get the quilt finished and am pleased with how it turned out, I used Warm Bond natural wadding this clings to the top and backing of the quilt so it requires less basting and making it easier to quilt.

The End is in Sight

Well I am cracking on with the wedding quilt, we will be seeing our son and daughter in law at the weekend as we are travelling down to Devon for a family wedding and I want to be able to give them their 'late' quilt then. However I have a really busy week and am away at the Hillsongs Colour Conference in London Thursday & Friday and so have to have this done by Wednesday night. I am on the final binding so hopefully I will get it done in time.

London

On Saturday my husband was at a conference in London so I went in on the train to meet up with our eldest son, Ben. He met me from the train and we went on a bit of a tour, starting in Marylebone Highstreet. Here there are lots of nice shops and cafes. We carried on walking until we came to Oxford Street and on route went into the Margaret Howell shop in Wigmore Street. We also went into Marimekko where we came across this family of Moomins. I took this photo for Primrose & Maggie who each have a Moomin in their cot.
The blossom was out in the parks and looked beautiful in the sunshine

We bought Krispy Kreme donuts and ate them outside The Wallace Collection Gallery before going in to admire the 'finest collection of art ever assembled by one family'.

We then went to meet my husband and went for supper at Cha Cha Moon off Canaby Street. After this we went to see Van Morrison performing Astral Weeks at the Royal Albert Hall. We had great seats and the performance was amazing. What a fantastic day!

New Shoes

I am busy working but just had to stop and add this photo of Primrose & Maggie in their new shoes from Green Shoes which is a hand made shoe company in Devon. I used to buy shoes for my children from Green Shoes. They draw around the foot and make them to size, the shoes can then be taken back later and stretched another half a size and so lasting longer. P & M are very pleased with their shoes and were ready for their fitting when they went to collect them yesterday..quickly sitting down and taking off their old shoes. They love to dress up.
