He spends time out in our garage which has been turned into his studio. As he's working on his wheel he listens to sermons and teaching on line and also plans his own sermons. It's a great way for him to relax and hear from God.
Well he has just bought an electric kiln and begun firing for the first time properly....I am so proud of his first achievements below in the bottom photo. It can often take a number of firings before getting things right so I am glad his first firing was successful and even if there are some failures ahead he knows he can do it right.
I'm hoping he will be making Christmas gifts to save me going out shopping :)

Wow! Those are beautiful! What a great hobby/quiet time/lots of good things!
These piece are beautiful! Such a wonderful hobby with so many benefits! Your post reminded me of a couple that has visited our church a few times. They have a powerful presentation all centered around pottery. Here is a link to their site: http://www.pottersfield.org/content.aspx?content_id=193803&site_id=10477
Just found a youtube video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqQtXWKOiBk
What lovely work from the mister. Handmade is always best. If he makes and gives his handiwork as Christmas gifts the recipients will be very lucky.
Last Sunday at our church we saw a dvd on an accomplished potter from Colorado. He does a demonstration on his pottery creations and the way it reminds him of God as our potter. It might be the same gentleman who Grateful Prayer talked about. I will check that out. It was so good!
I like that you all make pottery too. The finished products are beautiful! Anyone would love to receive a gift like that.I
