I've finally got around to putting my quilt pictures onto my laptop and will add them to my blog. We have our daughter, son in law and boys staying from South Africa...they are in Sheffield for a few days before they return here for they rest of theri visit. Life is pretty hectic with two under three running around! But what a blessing God has given us with these two lovely little boys. Seeking God's Face

Friday night at our church prayer meeting my husband spoke about 'taking up our cross' from Matthew 16. In Luke we are told to take up our cross daily. God has been speaking to me about seeking His face. I work with pre school children with special needs and this week a new little boy started at the nursery, he stood in the garden next to another little boy with their backs towards me, they looked almost identical...same colour skin, same shaved hair and same red lined hoods to their navy coats. Another child who has autism and very little language came alongside me, he obviously noticed the same thing that I did, he walked over to one boy, very gently took his face in his hands and turned it towards him, he examined the boys face. He then turned to the other boy and did the same, he smiled and walked away. He realised that from the back they looked the same but on examining their faces he could tell they were different boys. God wants us to do this with Him, to get so close to Him that we too can examine His face, we can look into His eyes, we can feel the gentleness of His breath on our face, we can feel the warmth of His love. There is an old song that we used to sing, it begins 'I will rejoice in You and be glad, I will extol Your love more than wine, draw me unto You that we may run together, I will rejoice in You and be glad.' God wants us to run with Him. When I pray for my children that is my prayer "Draw them unto You Lord that you may run together". That is the closeness that God wants us to have with Him, not running behind so we can't see His face but up alongside Him so we can feel His touch, we can hear His voice. Our focus must be on Him, our heavenly Father, not our work, our families, our troubles, but Him. Our trust must be Him who will take care of all those other parts of our lives. In order for us to have this relationship with God, we must take up our cross daily and follow Him.

We have had storms here in the UK today. My husband took our car down to the coast for a college retreat so I had to get buses to a course I was doing today.....I was drenched by the time I returned home. I managed to get these two little suits finished for the twins...can't wait to see them on! I am going to add some more photo's of all my grandchildren, they are just so beautiful!

More quilts & Family stuff

Well today is our day off.. Sunday's are pretty hectic, we have begun an outreach in the local leisure centre in the afternoon between the morning and evening services at church. On Mondays we usually go out so we are away from the telephone!

Today we have done some hedge trimming and I will do some quilting this afternoon. I have just begun a quilt group at our church so I have to keep up with sewing so I don't lag behind the rest of the group!

Next week I will be on half term break from school (I teach pre school children with special needs) so we are off down to Devon to visit Amy & Andy and our baby granddaughters, I cant wait!

Our eldest son Ben works as a photographer in London and our youngest, Dominic is getting married to Alice in September.

I am reading a book at the moment by Warren Wiersbe called 'Be Encouraged' its a study on 2 Corinthians, this is what I read this morning from 2Cor 12:7-8 'The Lord knows how to balance our lives. If we have only blessings, we may become proud; so He permits us to have burdens as well. Paul's great experience in heaven could have ruined his ministry on earth; so Go, in His goodness, permitted Satan to buffet Paul in order to keep him from becoming proud.' We have had a number of difficulites in the past and I can testify to this fact..that God is always in control, He always upholds us through those difficult times and brings us out the other side having learnt more and been able to trust Him more...if we just hang on to the fact that He is the Almighty!
