all good things......
We have had a great time with our twin granddaughters visiting, we have spent lots of time in the garden, playing, eating, painting, playing in the pool. We have made trips out, done some baking, reading, cut and stuck, watched a movie with popcorn, been to church, bbq'd, picnic'd, been to London and visited the windmill twice.

London
We have had the twins staying on their own since Saturday evening and we have had so much fun. They had planned a trip to London especially to visit the toy shop, Hamleys. I usually dread going there but actually today wasn't so busy. We met Uncle Ben which was an added bonus, Grandpa made his way to the coffee shop on the top floor with his book and the four of us began on the ground floor and scoured the shelves to be sure that what we had planned to buy really was what we wanted.
I'm not sure how many of you will have experienced 'Build a Bear' but it was much more fun than I thought it would be. The girls chose a little pony each, a skirt for each pony and with Uncle Ben's help managed to choose the cheapest 'sound' to go in the pony, he also pointed out to me that to buy the roller skates at the girls wanted would mean I had to buy two pair each as the ponies have four legs! That was helpful as I would have easily fallen into that trap.
The girls got to help fill their pony by pressing the foot pedal which enabled the filling to go into the pony, they then had to choose a fabric heart to place into the pony after they had first rubbed it to make it warm :) the girls then went over to the computer to make a birth certificate for their ponies. They girls are delighted with their ponies and are happy with the fact at they are an early birthday gift too. The Build A Bear staff were great with the children, talking through everything that they were doing and getting the girls to enter into all of it.
We then had a picnic in St James' Park which was lovely, before getting the bus back to the station and home....two very tired little girls and two very tired Grandparents!

I thought I would use the grandchildren to model some of my etsy makes while they are visiting...they rose to the challenge :)

Ella Wren
A couple of weeks ago I posted photos of the quilt that I made for my daughters friends who were adopting their second baby in South Africa.
This morning my daughter sent me the bottom photo that she took at church when their friends turned up with little Ella Wren.
I am sure you will agree she is the most beautiful baby girl. And she is wrapped in her little quilt looking beautifully snuggled up.

visit coming up
Next week we have these little guys and their parents coming to stay for a long weekend then mummy, daddy and Gilby will go home to Devon and Primrose & Maggie will be staying for a few days on their own. We will then take them home on our way down to Cornwall for a weeks holiday near Falmouth.
We have never had them to stay on their own before and so are busy planning our days. They told Mummy that we would be taking them to Hamley's toy shop in London's Regent Street....hadn't actually planned that but have now :)

Sunday catchup
I mentioned in my last post that we visited Frome while we were away, it's not a great town but has a sweet little cobbled street where the patchwork shop is. The rain began while we were there and was so heavy that we dashed into a lovely organic vegi cafe and ate Thai burgers and salad as we watched the rain pour down the cobbled lane like a river.
After this we visited a couple of lovely potteries, actually three potteries. There was an exhibition on at Muchelney Pottery where John Leach works and we picked up a bowl to replace one that had been broken. The problem I have now is that I don't really want to buy any as I know my husband can make them for me :)
The bottom four photos are of his work, he made the pots months ago but has had to wait for his new kiln to be able to glaze them, so I know that he can make even better pots now and have put in my order :)

home again
Yesterday we arrived back from New Wine, the Summer camp we often go to...the weather wasn't great, wet and muddy and without the comforts of a regular camp site. But we had a good time, great speakers, some from Vineyard churches in USA including John Wimbers daughter in law Christy.
I managed a visit to Millie Moon www.milliemoon.co.uk and picked up some pretty fabrics.
The new banner and logo for my etsy re brand is almost done and I am very pleased with it.
Hopefully it will be changed over soon :)
Thankfully we were in our little caravan and not a tent
