Bibs and Dummy Straps

I have been making more dummy straps, the top two are Cath Kidston fabric, and Liberty fabric bibs with cotton towelling backing. (I think I should of ironed the bibs before photographing)

Not sure I will be blogging for a bit as we are off on our hols on Thursday :)...will see how it goes.

Breast Feeding Cover

Here is another breast feeding cover I have made for my Etsy shop. I used a fine fabric this time just to try out a different kind. It has turned out well but I think this is the thinnest fabric that would be suitable. I had wanted to use some Liberty lawn but don't think it is heavy enough to hold the boning strip in place without it twisting around.I have been making bibs using Liberty and Cath Kidston fabric...will show you those another time :)

D rings to adjust the straps

Pocket for breast pads, made from cotton towelling.

Barn Dance

We are back from camp, great teaching, especially from Francis Chan, great worship and great weather. I don't have any interesting photo's from that so I have added some of my daughters that I have stolen from her FB page. They went and camped on a farm recently, there was a barn dance in the evening and a fun time was had by all!

they apparently all really enjoyed it and didn't want to sit out for any of the dances :)

Bibs

This is a great book of patterns for children's clothes, I have just used the template for these bibs for my upcoming etsy store. I used fabric left over from a pair of trousers I made for Gilby and backed with towelling. I haven't yet made the fastening and am still considering which way to do this. The press stud gadgets really don't work well and I am not sure about Velcro. I have recently seen some hand made bibs with sew on press studs so may try those.

Dishcloths & Plum Jam

I really quite like knitting dishcloths. I like the feel of the natural 100% cotton and the ease of just knitting and not having to concentrate too much :) I have made these with white cotton but usually use a natural colour. This is a little gift I am putting together for friends in Cornwall who we are staying with for a couple of nights during our holiday.

A Happy and Blessed Day

Some months back I showed this quilt that I had made for a friends wedding. The friend is someone I went to school with, when she was 14 her family moved to the north of England and when I was 16 my family moved right down to the South West of England, to Cornwall. Although we had moved so far apart we kept in touch and both came to know the Lord and watched each others families grow from a distance. Yesterday was the day for her second marriage. God had clearly brought this couple together and their marriage day was one full of God's love and blessings as they gave their vows before family and their heavenly Father. They both gave speeches which declared their love for one another and for God and for the excitement they both share at the expectation of where He is going to lead them next. To top it all, the sun shone...a rare occasion here in the UK this summer!

Caravan Cushions

Next Saturday 21st, we will be taking our little caravan off to a Bible Camp with some others from church. I am really hoping the weather improves. We do have an awning that doubles its size but having a little caravan does have its benefits :)
It is old and I have just made new curtains and cushions to brighten it up a bit. One couple have an amazing new camper van...my husband calls it a pamper van...so we wont be parking next to them!

Breast Feeding Cover

When my daughter had her twins she bought a breast feeding cover which she found invaluable, especially as to begin with she fed them both together. I thought I would have a go at making these covers for my etsy shop and began with this one for a new mum at church. She asked for stripes and I bought 100% cotton ticking fabric in navy. I pre washed it and it didn't shrink. It was a good price and lovely to sew with. I used 'boning' to make the top edge stand away from mum so she can peep down at baby while she is feeding. I made a towelling pocket on the inside corner to store breast pads and used D rings for fastening the straps.

Devon Reflection

We have just returned from our weekend in Devon...here are some photo's. The weather was good and we had a great time. Now I have three weeks left before my school job comes to an end and Ofsted will be joining us this week :(
